As SVP of Global Marketing at Wasabi, Laurie Mitchell not only founded, but is driving the development of the Wasabi Partner Network, by marketing to, with and through partners including MSPs, VARs, distributors and technology alliances who integrate or bundle Wasabi with their solutions. She has also expanded the partner team globally to support Wasabi’s international growth, enabling the company to reach new markets that did not seem achievable at the time.
Mitchell has expanded the Wasabi channel team exponentially since joining the company — building the entire program from the ground up — and now has more than 11,000 global partners with now slowdown in sight. She recognized that a focus on partner sales skills brings qualified partners and a bigger target of customers to achieve large recurring revenue. Mitchell has initiated webinars, channel events, newsletters, blogs, email and “campaigns-in-a-box” to help partners effectively market joint solutions. Her extra effort has ensured the success of Wasabi, with the company reaching new audiences that would be unattainable without her driving the channel growth.
Mitchell oversees the entire marketing department and plays many different roles as its marketing leader. She manages the channel team, the technology alliance team and all thought process and execution strategy that comes with it, having three different marketing teams report to her. By making an example of her own work ethic, she empowers everyone she works with to take ownership of their jobs, ideas and to be proud of what they produce at Wasabi.
